Hellen Baanders is a visual artist who specializes in felt. Over the years she has developed many different techniques, and she combines these in her work. This results in exclusive and unique designs.

 

With felt creations, shape is all-important, whether it be a decorative object, an article of clothing, or a child’s toy. Hellen draws inspiration from various sources, such as organic forms, geometric shapes, and her imagination. Her work is characterized by a natural simplicity. And the continuous search for her own particular combination of colours, shapes, and techniques leads to refreshing results.

 

Hellen works exclusively with hand-made felt. Her design brand,Capes I Capes, refers to the work process whereby the wool is placed layer by layer.

 

Hellen Baanders is a graduate of La Massana Art Academy in Barcelona.
